As people across the globe join together to honour and celebrate International Women’s Day, B.C. is set to begin consultations on new pay transparency legislation.

British Columbians are invited to provide feedback on proposed health and safety requirements for contractors, employers and workers who undertake asbestos abatement work.

Employers and workers throughout B.C. are reminded that, as of Jan. 1, 2022, eligible employees are entitled to a minimum of five paid sick days each year if they have worked at the organization for at least 90 days.

Six directors have been reappointed to WorkSafeBC’s governance board.

A new chair has been appointed to lead the organization that workers or employers can access if they want to appeal a decision from WorkSafeBC.

A new commission will provide advice on strengthening the long-term stability of jobs and economic recovery in B.C.’s forestry industry.

A new occupational health and safety representative, Judy Village, has been appointed to WorkSafeBC’s board of directors for a two-year term.
