Visitors will soon have more camping opportunities on Vancouver Island and the Sunshine Coast, with the completion of more than 100 new campsites in time for the upcoming camping season.

A landmark 10,000 BC Parks licence plates have been sold – a milestone reached less than eight weeks after the specialty plates were unveiled earlier this year.

The Province is providing the Rick Hansen Foundation with $9 million to further their work building accessibility in B.C.

Visitors will soon be able to book more backcountry adventures at Garibaldi Provincial Park, a favourite backcountry destination for outdoor enthusiasts.

The Province will increase and strengthen conservation in its world-renowned parks with a new investment of $35 million over the next three years.

The public is encouraged to purchase their new BC Parks plates at Autoplan broker offices and show their support for provincial parks through images of a Kermode Bear, Purcell Mountains or scenic Porteau Cove.

The legendary Kermode bear found only in British Columbia, the snow-capped Purcell Mountains and a stunning view from Porteau Cove overlooking Howe Sound – these are the iconic images emblazoned on the new BC Parks commemorative licence plates.

The Province has acquired four additional ecologically sensitive properties throughout British Columbia, thanks to a partnership with the Nature Conservancy of Canada.
