Construction is set to start on nearly 50 new, affordable rental homes for families and seniors in Port Alberni, as a result of a partnership between the Province and the Alberni Low Energy Housing Society (ALEHS).

A contract has been awarded to reconfigure the Dollarton Highway and Main Street interchange that will improve safety, reduce traffic congestion and provide better transit accessibility to and from Highway 1.
