First Nations in B.C. continue to lead clean-energy projects in their communities as key partners in the Province’s CleanBC plan to reduce carbon pollution.

British Columbians are encouraged to share their ideas to make walking, cycling and other kinds of active transportation safer, easier and more attractive.

George Heyman, Minister of Environment and Climate Change Strategy, invites British Columbians to a conversation in a series of telephone town halls about the Province’s comprehensive plan to create a cleaner, stronger and more prosperous B.C.

After years of rate hikes and billions in deferred costs at BC Hydro piled up by the previous government, the B.C. government is taking action to keep electricity rates affordable for customers by cutting costs and developing new revenue streams at the Crown corporation.

The Province has proposed a number of legislative changes that will clarify provincial and local government authorities, help local governments better respond to community needs and support British Columbia’s affordable housing goals.

Funding of $10 million from the Forest Enhancement Society of British Columbia will mean more wood waste will be redirected to mills instead of being burned on the ground, creating more jobs for British Columbians and reducing carbon emissions.
