Given his last name, it seemed like James Fiddler was destined for a life in the music industry. For a number of years, Fiddler was a professional musician working as a production manager for a company that produces guitars. When the company changed some of its operations, Fiddler decided it was a good time for a new career.

Some might say it takes guts to uproot your family and embark on a new career path, but for Vancouver-turned-Fort St. John resident Safety Enofe, the decision to go back to school in the hopes of finding a better job was made easier by a BC Access Grant and the ability to find a seat in his field of study at Northern Lights College.

Advanced Education Minister Amrik Virk joined paramedic students in training exercises during a visit to the Justice Institute of British Columbia (JIBC) in New Westminster on November 15th. Virk also spoke to a class of law enforcement studies students, and learned more about the training JIBC is providing for British Columbia's next public safety and justice professionals.
