The B.C. government’s Animal Health Centre has received a new international accreditation that furthers its reputation as Western Canada’s leading full-service veterinary laboratory.

The governments of Canada and British Columbia announced changes to the AgriInsurance - Production Insurance program that will help B.C. tree-fruit growers manage the risk of crop losses by hail, spring frost, excessive rain, flooding, drought and wind. 

To increase awareness of the farmers’ food donation tax credit that the British Columbia government announced in Budget 2016, Agriculture Minister Norm Letnick is reaching out to B.C. farmers to get social, get giving and get an income tax credit.

Agriculture Minister Norm Letnick has issued the following statement congratulating the governments of Canada and Japan on market access for British Columbia greenhouse peppers into Japan:

The British Columbia government is providing funding of up to $25,000 each for 10 communities, so they can work directly with their local residents to help them grow their own food. Grow Local BC, a pilot project, was introduced to Union of British Columbia Municipalities delegates in Victoria.

Some of the Province’s best will be on display for Their Royal Highnesses, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge at the Mission Hill Family Estate Winery for the Taste of British Columbia event – showcasing B.C.’s agrifoods and seafood products.

A new on-line system will help new entrants achieve certified organic status, as B.C. farmers continue to meet the consumer demand for certified organic B.C. foods.
