Provincial patient safety and quality officer Dr. Doug Cochrane has completed his review of the early functioning of IHealth, the electronic health record system implemented in three Nanaimo-area health facilities in March.

Emergency health services in the Coquihalla corridor will be strengthened thanks to a planned expansion and renovation of the Nicola Valley Hospital and Health Centre’s emergency department.

The Province is seeking feedback on a proposed new approach to regulate health-care assistants, which would see a new registry model established under a newly formed single provincial nursing college.

As an interim measure while primary care capacity is being added in the community in the coming months, Kamloops residents without a family doctor can now call HealthLink BC at 8-1-1 to be placed on a waitlist for a primary care provider.
