Parliamentary Secretary for Healthy Living, Michelle Stilwell has issued the following statement::

A successful new partnership between BC Transplant and the Government of B.C. has helped hundreds of British Columbians register their decision on organ donation. This new project was launched in four community Service BC offices as an initial trial.

British Columbia is leading Canada when it comes to providing solutions to help seniors stay in their own homes, longer, said Michelle Stilwell, Parliamentary Secretary for Seniors.

Doctors' offices and pharmacies are often closed or have reduced hours over the holidays, resulting in increased numbers at hospital emergency departments.

This holiday season is a great opportunity to visit with family and friends and enjoy some festive seasonal treats, and it's important to eat well and work in some exercise to help support a healthier lifestyle year-round.

Government has received the report prepared by independent reviewer Marcia McNeil, LLB. It is a review of the process followed by the public service in responding to allegations of inappropriate conduct, contracting and data-management practices involving employees and researchers.

The holidays can be a fun, joyful time for families, but can also add to stress levels, affect depression and be challenging for people with mental health issues and substance use concerns.

Government has reached an agreement with B.C.’s registered midwives that will benefit mothers and their babies by improving access to midwifery services throughout the province.
