The Coquihalla Highway between Hope and Merritt is expected to remain closed in both directions well into the evening, and possibly overnight, following an incident involving a burning semi-trailer truck carrying dangerous goods.

Beginning Tuesday, May 23, motorists travelling the Coquihalla Highway over the summer are advised to expect delays, due to two major road and bridge construction projects between Hope and Merritt.

Areas in the south and central interior of the province remain under Evacuation Alert or Order after recent flooding events, and there is a potential for increased snowmelt and further precipitation and flooding next week.

Motorists should expect delays on Highway 1 on Wednesday, May 3 (tomorrow)  between 10 a.m. and noon near Exit 370 Summit off-ramp due to construction.

Motorists travelling on Highway 1 through Kamloops should be advised that the exit 370 Summit off-ramp in Kamloops will be closed for two nights for paving work.

The new, built-in-B.C. cable ferry to serve Adams Lake is now undergoing final outfitting on site, and lake trials will begin shortly.

A major resurfacing project for Highway 97 will get underway this spring, now that the contract for this work has been awarded.

Essential deck repairs and rehabilitation will soon be underway on the Dry Gulch Bridge, extending the life of the structure and providing safer conditions for those who travel the Coquihalla Highway.

Kamloops will receive $1 million in BikeBC funding this year for the Peterson Creek Multi-use Path Phase 1 project, announced Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure Todd Stone.
