The Lhtako Dene Nation will increase its stake in the Castle Mountain Independent power project thanks to a $100,000 investment through the First Nations Clean Energy Business Fund.

Government is continuing to support rural communities with a $636,976 investment under the Rural Education Enhancement Fund (REEF) to help the Quesnel School District keep Parkland elementary in Ten Mile Lake and Kersley elementary in Kersley open.

The Province intends to better connect communities west of Quesnel and south of Highway 16 to jobs and opportunities in the Northwest with a new crossing over the Blackwater River and improvements to service roads in the region.

Individuals and families in Quesnel soon will have access to new affordable rental housing, thanks to a partnership between the B.C. government and the City of Quesnel to rezone and relocate the Seasons House shelter.

Quesnel will receive $87,189 in BikeBC funding this year for the Gray Avenue Trail Connection.

Students in the Quesnel School District will benefit from $1.3 million in provincial funding for school upgrade projects, classroom supplies and a new school bus.

The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure is conducting a transportation study of the Highway 97 corridor through Quesnel and invites the public to attend an open house to provide input on the transportation needs of the corridor.
