The Ministry of Health is changing how people access long-term care to make the process more client-centred, consistent and fair and to ensure seniors have greater choice in where they live.

The expanded and redeveloped emergency department at Nicola Valley Hospital and Health Centre is strengthening patient care for people in Merritt and area through improved infrastructure, which includes features that foster equality and inclusion in British Columbia’s health-care system. 

The first nursing degree program in the Northeast will ensure more patients in the region can access care that will improve their quality of life, while students can pursue health-care education and training closer to home.
