A new online application to file for dispute resolution will make it easier and faster for B.C.tenants and landlords to resolve tenancy issues.

Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing Selina Robinson and Minister of Social Development and Poverty Reduction Shane Simpson have issued the following joint statement in recognition of Homelessness Action Week, Oct. 8-14:

People will soon have access to safe, affordable housing thanks to a provincewide program to help municipalities tackle homelessness. The program will provide hundreds of new modular housing units in communities from Vancouver to Surrey to Smithers, Premier John Horgan announced today.

The Province is contributing to a regional Metro Vancouver bid to play host to Amazon’s second headquarters, Amazon HQ2, which could generate US$5 billion in investment and create up to 50,000 jobs in B.C., announced Premier John Horgan at the UBCM convention today.

Minister of Indigenous Relations and Reconciliation Scott Fraser has issued the following statement in support of the BC Treaty Commission’s annual report:

The Province is providing additional housing and support for individuals who have been homeless or are at risk of homelessness with the purchase and renovation of the Kelowna Good Night Inn, located at 2639 Highway 97 North.

The Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing has released the Capital Integrated Services and Governance Initiative report.

The Province is providing $4.5 million to purchase the Super 8 motel, located at 1706 Main St., for supportive housing.
