People in one of the fastest-growing communities in B.C. are one step closer to expanded patient care as construction begins on the redevelopment of Burnaby Hospital.

Ravi Kahlon, Minister of Jobs, Economic Recovery and Innovation, has released the following statement on the trade mission to Europe to support good jobs in B.C., explore new economic opportunities and build on B.C.’s reputation as a leader in environmental, social and governance (ESG) standards:

A new task force backed by $750,000 in provincial funding will support the Province’s goal to end period poverty and remove the stigma associated with menstruation.

A new agreement signed between the Province of B.C. and the Netherlands will help further secure British Columbia’s food supply by developing agricultural technology (agritech) opportunities in both jurisdictions.

New community programs focused on seniors’ health, culture and education are part of a new initiative announced by Premier John Horgan to provide lasting recognition of historical wrongs committed by the Province of B.C. against Japanese Canadians during the Second World War.

As the next step in the StrongerBC Economic Plan and as part of bringing good-paying jobs for people and families back to British Columbia, Ravi Kahlon, Minister of Jobs, Economic Recovery and Innovation, will embark on a 10-day trade mission to Europe.
