Residents of nearly 30 communities will be safer during emergencies with provincial funding for emergency operations centres that will enhance local governments’ and First Nations’ response to emergencies.

Disaster Financial Assistance (DFA) is now available through a new online application portal for eligible people in Savona who were affected by flash flooding on June 30, 2024.

Following a stretch of high temperatures and several heat warnings throughout the province, and with potentially challenging wildfire weather forecast, the BC Wildfire Service is implementing a campfire ban in all parts of B.C., except Haida Gwaii.    

People and communities will be better protected from natural and climate-driven emergencies with the introduction of a new provincial funding program, which will support disaster risk reduction and climate-adaptation projects in B.C.
