The Province and four Treaty 8 First Nations – Fort Nelson, Saulteau, Halfway River and Doig River First Nations – have reached consensus on a collaborative approach to land and resource planning, and to advance regional solutions to benefit everyone living in northeastern B.C. and Treaty 8 territory.

As the Province continues implementation of the Old Growth Strategic Review, the latest numbers released show old-growth logging in B.C. has decreased to the lowest level on record.  

After a lengthy closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Maquinna Marine Provincial Park is open with improved facilities to enhance the experience for the thousands of people who visit the park each year.

Vernon families and seniors have access to an additional 29 affordable rental homes for households with low to moderate incomes with the opening of Albert Place 2.

A record number of people made reservations for campsites, day-use passes, backcountry permits, cabins and picnic shelters in provincial parks this season.
