The replacement of Nicomen River Bridge on the Trans-Canada Highway is complete.

Contractors that build and maintain British Columbia's transportation infrastructure have been honoured for their approach to service and innovation, while helping people and goods stay on the move.

People living in the coastal regions of British Columbia, as well as in Metro Vancouver, the Fraser Valley and parts of the Interior, can expect stormy weather and strong winds starting Tuesday, Nov. 19 and extending through Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2024.

As weather in British Columbia transitions into fall, people can expect seasonal stormy conditions and are encouraged to take steps to prepare for cooler temperatures and the increased possibility of rain, snow and flooding.

The provincial government’s Columbia River Treaty team will host a public virtual information session about the recent agreement-in-principle (AIP) reached between Canada and the United States to modernize the Columbia River Treaty.

Repairs to Highway 8 will begin soon to permanently restore the section approximately 15 kilometres east of Spences Bridge that was damaged by floods in 2021, and to enhance the highway’s climate resilience.
