Sheila Malcolmson, Minister of Mental Health and Addictions, has released the following statement for National Addictions Awareness Week:

Highway 3 has reopened for goods movement and people travelling for essential purposes only following a closure to conduct a geotechnical assessment.

New affordable, culturally appropriate rental homes have opened for Indigenous residents in a new building in downtown Vancouver.

Flood waters in the Abbotsford area continue to recede allowing the eastbound lanes on Highway 1 between Highway 11 east to Cole Road to be open for emergency access to agricultural operations in the area.   

Indigenous communities, local governments and eligible organizations can apply for funding under the 150 Time Immemorial program for projects that promote and educate British Columbians about diversity, inclusion, reconciliation and resiliency.

Targeted supports for people and businesses, increased vaccinations and the resilience of people and communities continue to drive a strong economic rebound in B.C. with second quarterly results showing a further reduction in the provincial deficit.

Highway 1 between Boothroyd and Hope is now open, helping connect several communities to the Lower Mainland.
