Patients, their loved ones and health-care staff at the University Hospital of Northern BC (UHNBC) will soon benefit from improved, secure parking options as a new parkade is constructed at the hospital.

The public is invited to learn more about two projects that will help improve safety, stability and reliability on Cariboo roads affected by slides and washouts.   

Jennifer Whiteside, Minister of Mental Health and Addictions, has released the following statement regarding the BC Coroners Service report on illicit drug toxicity deaths in September 2023:

A report issued by a panel of subject-matter experts recommends the Province immediately pursue additional measures to expand access to safer supply by allowing access for people at risk of significant injury or death without a prescription.

To help strengthen resilience against climate-related hazards, the Province is providing funding to the City of Rossland for a project to help build climate resilience in the community.

To help strengthen resilience against climate-related hazards, the Province is providing funding to the City of Richmond for a pair of flood-mitigation projects.

To help strengthen resilience against climate-related hazards, the Province is providing funding to the City of Merritt for a pair of projects to strengthen flood-risk assessment and mitigation in the community.

To help strengthen resilience against climate-related hazards, the Province is providing funding to the Town of Golden for two projects to reduce the threat of flooding in the community.

To help strengthen resilience against climate-related hazards, the Province is providing funding to the Fraser-Fort George Regional District and the Peace River Regional District for a pair of community projects.
