More than $12.4 million in one-time funding to the BC Arts Council will support a strong recovery for B.C. artists and organizations as the Province continues to build back from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Starting Friday, April 1, 2022, employees at B.C.’s tribunals and certain agencies, boards and commissions will be protected by the Public Interest Disclosure Act (PIDA) as part of a phased expansion that will bring more public-sector organizations under the act.

British Columbians are embracing zero-emission vehicles (ZEVs) faster than any other jurisdiction in North America, with ZEVs representing 13% of all new light-duty vehicle sales in B.C. last year, according to the province’s 2021 Zero-Emission Vehicle Update.

People living in Merritt and Princeton will benefit from rural development grants to help them recover from the effects of climate-related events.  

B.C.’s Climate Solutions Council, which provides independent advice to government on climate programs, actions and accountability, has been renewed with the appointment of six new members.

Services to help children and youth with support needs and their families are being boosted through $7 million in grant funding to community-based service providers and advocacy organizations.
