People experiencing or at risk of homelessness in Prince George will soon have more safe and secure housing options as approximately 100 supportive homes and complex-care housing (CCH) units are on the way.

People and communities will be better protected from structure fires as the provincial government implements legislation to enhance fire safety through an enhanced system of inspections and effective enforcement.

The Province is amending the personal use-notice period for home purchasers in B.C. to three months to improve conditions for first-time homebuyers, while ensuring that tenants have more than two months notice to find new housing.

Construction will soon begin on 37 new homes for Indigenous individuals, families and seniors in Smithers.

Seniors in Saanich are moving into 100 new affordable rental homes with the completion of the Linwood Court redevelopment.

A combined 211 supportive homes and shelter spaces are underway or will be preserved for people experiencing homelessness in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside as part of the Province’s contributions to the landmark Harbour Light redevelopment.
