Katrine Conroy, Minister of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development, has released the following statement regarding the assistance provided by the Canadian Armed Forces during this year’s wildfire season:

B.C.’s ranchers can access up to $20 million to help with extraordinary expenses they incur for feed, shelter, animal health and safety, and the transportation of their livestock as a result of this year’s wildfires and drought.

Murray Rankin, Minister of Indigenous Relations and Reconciliation, has issued the following statement on his visit to Wet’suwet’en territory:

There will be an increased presence of Tahltan guardians and B.C. conservation officers within Tahltan Territory this year, as the Province of British Columbia and the Tahltan Central Government work together toward co-operative wildlife stewardship and continue their shared commitments to further reconciliation.
