To prepare for this year’s spring freshet and wildfire seasons, the Province is urging caution and encouraging people to prepare for these hazards.

Sheila Malcolmson, Minister of Mental Health and Addictions, has released the following statement regarding the BC Coroners Service’s report on illicit drug toxicity deaths for February 2022:

Preliminary data released by the BC Coroners Service reveals that the toxic drug supply has claimed the lives of 9,410 British Columbians since January 2016, and that at least 174 lives were lost in the month of February 2022.

Ravi Kahlon, Minister of Jobs, Economic Recovery and Innovation, has released the following statement on his trade mission to Portland and San Francisco to explore new opportunities for B.C.:

People in crisis will soon have access to new peer-assisted care teams in New Westminster and Victoria and an expanded care team on the North Shore thanks to a $1.26-million investment through Budget 2022.

More parents in the Vancouver, North Vancouver and Sea to Sky region will be able to pursue work, school and other opportunities while knowing their children are cared for as the Province invests in more than 317 new licensed child care spaces.
