Getting together over lunch with new friends was a popular program for Seniors Come Share until a global pandemic brought it to a temporary halt.

Dr. Bonnie Henry, B.C.’s provincial health officer, and Adrian Dix, Minister of Health, have issued the following joint statement regarding updates on the COVID-19 response in British Columbia:

A new inclusive employment pilot project is providing eligible Powell River residents with on-the-job work experience and skills training while they earn a fair wage in a new social enterprise.

Generations of students will now be able to study in their communities, thanks to new, environmentally friendly mass timber housing being constructed at Okanagan College’s Vernon, Salmon Arm and Kelowna campuses.

In the Lower Mainland, 318 arts and culture organizations have received $9.5 million through the B.C. government’s StrongerBC plan for economic recovery.

On Vancouver Island and the Coast, 120 arts and culture organizations have received $3.5 million through the B.C. government’s StrongerBC plan for economic recovery.

In the Interior, 97 arts and culture organizations have received $2.3 million through the B.C. government’s StrongerBC plan for economic recovery.

In the North, 21 arts and culture organizations have received $400,000 through the B.C. government’s StrongerBC plan for economic recovery.
