Rob Fleming, Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure, has issued the following statement to acknowledge and celebrate National Trucking Week:

Consultations on the B.C. Off-Dock Drayage Recommendation Report are soon moving to the next phase, with face-to-face meetings between the B.C. container trucking commissioner and key stakeholders set to take place next week.

A new eight-lane immersed-tube tunnel will replace the George Massey Tunnel on Highway 99, providing people a toll-free crossing that aligns with regional interests and improves transit, cycling and walking connections across the Fraser River.

Starting Sept. 1, 2021, children 12 and under will be able to “Get on Board” any BC Transit or TransLink service for free as part of the provincial government’s commitment to efficient, reliable and affordable transit for families.

The strength of B.C.’s economy and the resilience of British Columbians has helped to keep provincial finances on more stable ground during one of the most challenging times in the province’s history.
