A new provincial funding commitment of $14.8 million is supporting the operations and growth of non-profit housing providers to bring more housing and services to people in B.C.

Jennifer Whiteside, Minister of Mental Health and Addictions, has released the following statement regarding the BC Coroners Service report on illicit drug-toxicity deaths in May:

Young adults living with addictions in British Columbia will have access to more treatment and recovery services, with the opening of new substance-use beds in Surrey and Vancouver.

Asbestos abatement contractors who operate in B.C. must be licensed by Jan. 1, 2024, making B.C. the first jurisdiction in Canada to implement a licensing requirement for this work.

Injured workers will be better supported to return to their job, or other suitable employment, through new requirements under the Workers Compensation Act.
