The Province has introduced legislation to enable school districts in B.C. to support families with more child care on school grounds.

Early literacy screening will help students with reading challenges, including those with dyslexia and other learning disabilities, to get help with reading sooner.

Families throughout British Columbia continue to benefit from government investments in child care, as more families gain access to $10-a-day spaces and new child care centre projects are funded.

Cellphones and other digital devices will be restricted in B.C. schools when students return to school next week as part of a series of actions to keep kids safe and healthy.

Effective Monday, April 1, 2024, families looking for licensed child care can no longer be charged a fee to put their names on waitlists, removing a barrier to finding high-quality child care.

The Province is replenishing funding that helps families that need it most cover the extra costs of school activities or buying school supplies for their children.

More families in British Columbia will save thousands of dollars every year as more than 700 child care spaces move into the $10 a Day ChildCareBC program.
