Mable Elmore, Parliamentary Secretary for Anti-Racism Initiatives, has issued the following statement in celebration of Asian Heritage Month:

More people will have better access to the tools and resources needed to address racism and build more inclusive communities, as 60 organizations receive support through the B.C. Multiculturalism and Anti-Racism Grants program.

The Mabuhay House Society will receive $250,000 for planning and public engagement about the development of a provincial cultural centre to celebrate the Filipino community in B.C.

Premier David Eby has issued the following statement in celebration of Easter:

Racialized people living in Surrey and area will soon be to able access new opportunities – and protections – through a $987,000 provincial grant to Solid State Community Industries.

More than 100 people and organizations have been nominated for the 2023 B.C. Multiculturalism and Anti-Racism Awards for efforts to address racism and build a more equitable B.C. for everyone.

Proposed amendments to the Election Act will make it easier for voters in B.C. to cast their ballots, while continuing to combat disinformation, increase transparency and strengthen third-party advertising rules in the provincial electoral process.

Families throughout B.C. will have access to free Family Day activities Feb. 17-20, supported by $300,000 from the Province.
