In celebration of 100 years of preparing young British Columbians with agriculture learning and leadership, the B.C. government is presenting B.C. 4-H with $87, 000 in funding and a Century Farm Award.

Agriculture Minister Norm Letnick issued the following statement on the Agricultural Land Commission Act consultation:

The Graham Island East Coast Farmers' Institute is celebrating over 100 years of farming and agriculture on Haida Gwaii.

In recognition of the 100 years of supporting local agriculture on Vancouver Island, Parksville-Qualicum MLA Michelle Stilwell, on behalf of Minister of Agriculture Norm Letnick, is presenting a Century Farm Award to the Coombs Farmers' Institute.

The Ministry of Agriculture has begun consultations with B.C. farmers to help farming families earn a better living and have more opportunities to use their land.

B.C. agriculture and agri-food projects, supporting everything from innovation to food safety, are receiving more than $2.9 million in funding from the governments of Canada and British Columbia.

The wait is almost over as the Surrey Urban Farmers Market is on the move and getting ready to open up at the North Surrey Civic Plaza in June.
