Pam Alexis, Minister of Agriculture and Food, has issued the following statement in honour of the 50th anniversary of the Agricultural Land Reserve (ALR):

Eligible B.C. greenhouse growers will soon be able to obtain a point-of-sale carbon tax reduction to help them preserve their cash flow and continue growing the vegetables and plants British Columbians enjoy.

B.C. farmers and producers can still participate in AgriStability for the 2022 farming year and have until June 30, 2023, to pay their fees and secure coverage under the program.

Testing has confirmed eight skunks found dead in late February in Richmond and Vancouver are positive for avian influenza.

The Province is removing Richmond’s Ecowaste landfill from the Agricultural Land Reserve (ALR), allowing the company to move forward with a new recycling facility for housing construction waste.
