B.C. is proud to celebrate 10 years of the BC School Fruit and Vegetable Nutritional program, and thanks to $3.5 million in new funding this year, it will continue bringing fruits, vegetables and milk to children in classrooms throughout the province.

Premier Christy Clark helped kick off the University of the Fraser Valley’s 40th anniversary party with today’s official opening of the new Agriculture Centre of Excellence.

British Columbia's newest centre of excellence is dedicated to agriculture, with construction progressing at the University of the Fraser Valley on a brand-new barn and greenhouses after an investment of $1 million by government.

Schools participating in the BC School Fruit and Vegetable Nutritional Program will now have the option to receive milk from local dairy farms thanks to $1 million in new provincial funding.

B.C. is providing $1 million to further support school children's access to fresh B.C.-grown fruit and vegetable snacks in the classroom.

You likely know them as the happy, hardworking kids in the barns at every summer fair across British Columbia. The Province knows them as the future of agriculture, and that's why it's investing $85,000 in the B.C. 4-H program's young members through a provincial grant.
