Rachna Singh, Parliamentary Secretary for Anti-racism Initiatives, has released the following statement in celebration of Islamic Heritage Month:

The Miscellaneous Statutes Amendment Act (No. 2), 2021, was introduced in the legislative assembly on Thursday, Oct. 7, 2021.

Indigenous peoples throughout B.C. will now have access to legal services and supports online through a new Virtual Indigenous Justice Centre (VIJC), which will make it easier to navigate the justice system.

The Province is proclaiming Oct. 3-9, 2021, as Make a Will Week,  reminding British Columbians to write their will or bring an existing one up to date.

BC Housing and Island Health, in partnership with the City of Victoria and non-profit operators, are taking measures to support people experiencing homelessness in Victoria who are at risk from COVID-19.
