Premier David Eby and Mable Elmore, Parliamentary Secretary for Anti-Racism Initiatives, have issued the following statement on the 74th anniversary of the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights by the United Nations General Assembly:

Funding to tackle racism and advance racial equity is available for community organizations through the Province’s 2022-23 multiculturalism grants program.

Millions of British Columbians will benefit from new measures to help people with the high cost of living caused by global inflation.

As a step to dismantle systemic racism and discrimination faced by Indigenous, Black and people of colour, the Province is introducing the anti-racism data act. 

More than 13,000 British Columbians have participated in an engagement on how government can safely and thoughtfully use demographic data to address systemic racism and build a better, more inclusive province for everyone.
