Jennifer Glougie has been appointed as the new chair of the BC Labour Relations Board and the Employment Standards Tribunal.

Premier John Horgan and Rachna Singh, Parliamentary Secretary for Anti-Racism Initiatives, have issued the following statement on the 73rd anniversary of the adoption of the Universal Declaration on Human Rights by the United Nations (UN) General Assembly:

Community organizations throughout B.C. are receiving funding to help them engage their members on race-based data collection as the Province moves forward with anti-racism data legislation.

British Columbia families going through separation will soon have more access to parenting supports and courses, as well as continued support for different ways to attend court appearances, as a result of updates to the rules governing family court. 

Thirty British Columbians are being honoured with the Queen’s counsel designation for their contributions to B.C.’s provincial justice system through their work as lawyers.

David Eby, Attorney General, and Murray Rankin, Minister of Indigenous Relations and Reconciliation, have released the following statement in celebration of Bills 18 and 29 receiving royal assent:

Community organizations can now submit applications for the 2021-22 multiculturalism grants program as the Province extends support for projects tackling racism and discrimination.

The provincial government has introduced two bills that further uphold Indigenous human rights and advance reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples.

New legislation will help maintain access to critical services that British Columbians rely on and protect those who provide those services, as the Province moves to prevent disruptive behaviour from affecting schools and health-care facilities.

The Attorney General Statutes Amendment Act, 2021, was introduced in the legislative assembly on Monday, Nov. 15, 2021.
