Racialized people can now share their perspectives in culturally safe spaces as 68 organizations across B.C. receive more than $300,000 to engage community members on the development of new anti-racism legislation.

People are encouraged to share their thoughts through an online questionnaire about how government can best address systemic racism.

Premier David Eby and Mable Elmore, Parliamentary Secretary for Anti-Racism Initiatives, have issued the following statement on the 74th anniversary of the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights by the United Nations General Assembly:

Millions of British Columbians will benefit from new measures to help people with the high cost of living caused by global inflation.

Indigenous and Black people, and people of colour, are another step closer to having better access to government programs and services as the historic Anti-Racism Data Act is enshrined in B.C. law.

As a step to dismantle systemic racism and discrimination faced by Indigenous, Black and people of colour, the Province is introducing the anti-racism data act. 

More than 100 people and organizations have been nominated for this year’s B.C. Multiculturalism and Anti-Racism Awards for their efforts to fight racism and strengthen diversity.
