David Eby, Attorney General, has released the following statement regarding the second-quarter results from the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia (ICBC):

Government has released regulations on the auto insurance product changes announced earlier this year, increasing care for injured people while helping ICBC return to financial sustainability.

Increased penalties will come into effect Nov. 1, 2018, for drivers who put people at risk through excessive speeding, impaired driving, distracted driving and other violations.

The Miscellaneous Statutes Amendment Act (No. 2), 2018, was introduced in the legislature today, Apr. 23, 2018, by Attorney General David Eby.

Government is tabling amendments to the Class Proceedings Act that, if approved by the legislature, will clarify and improve the processes for class proceedings involving both residents and non-residents of British Columbia.
