The Government of British Columbia has appointed two new judges to the Provincial Court to support consistent and timely access to justice.

Nominations for the honorary designation of King’s Counsel (KC) for 2024 will open on Monday, Aug. 12, 2024.

Jessica Berglund has been appointed by Attorney General Niki Sharma as the new chief civilian director (CCD) of B.C.’s Independent Investigations Office (IIO).

Cowichan Tribes will begin using its own laws and the B.C. provincial court to resolve child and family welfare matters involving Cowichan children.

Fifty-one new B.C. sheriffs will soon begin their careers keeping people safe at courthouses throughout the province.

More people throughout the province will have access to a service that helps resolve family law matters earlier.
