David Eby, Attorney General, and Carole James, Minister of Finance, have issued the following statement on anti-money laundering commitments by the real estate industry:

BC Liquor Stores customers have again helped British Columbian Grade 12 students, raising more than $280,000 as part of the annual Support Dry Grad Campaign for alcohol-free high school graduation celebrations.

There are currently no dedicated federal RCMP officers in B.C. investigating criminal money laundering, according to the latest report into money laundering in the province by Peter German.

Two reports on money laundering in British Columbia were delivered to government, following a two-pronged review aimed at shutting down avenues for money laundering in real estate, luxury cars and horse racing.

The BC Ferries commissioner has announced his preliminary decision on price caps for the next performance term, which would allow average ferry fares to increase by a maximum of 2.3% annually beginning April 1, 2020, and ending March 31, 2024.  

Amendments to the Insurance (Vehicle) Regulation clarify changes to ICBC benefits and processes that come into effect Monday, April 1, 2019, for people who are injured in motor vehicle accidents.

The Province and the Legal Services Society (LSS) have announced a one-time grant of $7.9 million to support the development of a new framework for legal aid funding.

For the next month, breweries in British Columbia are invited to share their views on proposed new requirements to acquire and maintain a manufacturing licence.

Effective immediately, amendments have been made to changes to court rules that were implemented earlier this year.
