ICBC has hired 43 new estimators in response to the increase in vehicle claims costs, and to enhance oversight of autobody repair costs, as government works to bring ICBC back to financial stability.

In a step forward for British Columbia's relationship with Indigenous peoples, leaders of B.C.'s justice and public-safety sector met with Indigenous leaders, justice experts and community workers, for two days at the 10th B.C. Justice Summit on June 1 and 2, 2018, to discuss the relationship between Indigenous peoples and the justice system.

Peter Kappel has been appointed chair of the B.C. Lottery Corporation (BCLC), the Province’s Crown corporation responsible for the conduct and management of gambling in British Columbia, under the Gaming Control Act.

British Columbians, who have served as jurors and experienced stress and mental-health challenges arising from their work as jurors, will have access to free counselling sessions at the conclusion of a trial, thanks to a new juror support program.

The Government of British Columbia has underscored its commitment to work with Indigenous peoples in the spirit of respect and collaboration by introducing a set of draft principles designed to guide the daily work of provincial government employees. Don Wright, head of the BC Public Service shared the draft principles with all 27,000 public service employees on Tuesday, May 22, 2018.
