You've heard of the three R's but what about the four B's? British Columbia has proclaimed Nov. 20 as B.C. Child and Youth Day to coincide with National Child Day.

Behaviour interventionists working with children with autism in rural and remote areas in B.C. have a new opportunity to increase their skills through online training offered by Douglas College in partnership with the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD).

Throughout November, B.C. celebrates Adoption Awareness Month to acknowledge the many families created through adoption and bring attention to those children and youth who still need the care and love of a permanent family.

Foster families enjoyed a BC Lions game, thanks to a partnership between the football club and the provincial government. Fifty foster families cheered on the Lions Oct. 29th as they hosted the Edmonton Eskimos. The foster families even went on the field before the game to watch the Lions' pre-game warm-up.

This October marks the 21st year of celebrating Foster Family Month in British Columbia - an important chance to honour the incredible work of foster families across the province.
