Thousands of families in 34 B.C. communities will soon have access to quality, licensed child care, as the Province marks a new milestone in its Childcare BC plan.

As parents return to work, the Province is making affordable, quality child care more accessible for families in Kamloops by investing in more than 40 new licensed spaces.

As parents return to work, the Province is making affordable, quality child care more accessible for families in Salmon Arm by investing in more than a dozen new licensed spaces, scheduled to open in January 2021.

Former youth in care Jessy Neal took part in the creation of the first BC Child and Youth in Care Week (BCCYICW) in 2010. A decade later, she is still working to change the way we view people who have spent time in foster care.

B.C. child care professionals are finding creative ways to stay connected and support the children and families in their community during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Parents will have the choice of bringing their children back to class on a part-time basis this school year as part of BC’s Restart Plan, with the goal of returning to full-time classes in September 2020, provided it is safe to do so.
