Improved connectivity due to updates to the Local Government Act will provide more options for people living in rural and remote areas to connect with friends and family, purchase goods or services, access health services, expand their business or even telecommute.

British Columbians in 53 communities will benefit from almost $16 million paid by the Province to local governments in lieu of property taxes.  

Arrangements are being made to ensure that British Columbians continue to receive cheques and critical documents in the event of a Canada Post labour disruption.

The Miscellaneous Statutes Amendment Act (No. 2), 2018, was introduced in the legislature today, Apr. 23, 2018, by Attorney General David Eby.

Following the March 13, 2018, funding announcement of $38 million for five regional projects, partners and stakeholders gathered to celebrate the people and communities that will benefit from this investment, announced Minister of Citizens’ Services, Jinny Sims.
