A new report by BC Stats has found that connecting underserved rural and remote communities to high-speed internet brings significant economic benefits to people throughout British Columbia.

People in the village of Lach Klan, also known as Kitkatla, now have reliable high-speed internet access, unlocking better, faster access to digital services and opportunities.

People in more than 1,500 households on Haida Gwaii now have access to high-speed internet services enabling faster, more reliable access to digital services and opportunities.

People in more than 800 households in five communities on Vancouver Island now have access to high-speed broadband internet unlocking better, faster access to digital services and opportunities.

People in Fort St. James, Williams Prairie Meadow 1A, Cluculz Lake area and Burns Lake areas are getting new infrastructure expanding access to high-speed internet services.

The fourth intake of the Connecting Communities funding program is open for applications until June 20, 2024.
