People will be able to move into new homes faster as the Province invests in digital permitting and the construction industry to make the process quicker and more collaborative.

More than 130 households on Westham Island will  benefit from a project bringing access to quality, reliable high-speed internet services to the community this year.

Establishing ways to further protect the online identity of Canadians to ensure people’s information is safer and more private was the central theme of a ministers’ symposium in Vancouver this week.

More than 1,300 households in six more communities in the Cariboo now have access to high-speed internet services with the installation of new connectivty infrastructure.

Construction has begun on a fibre-to-the-home project that will bring access to high-speed internet to more than 500 households in six Indigenous communities: Sqwá (Skwah) First Nation’s Skwah 4 and Skwali 3; Cook’s Ferry Indian Band’s Entlqwekkinh19 and Kloklowuck 7; Squamish Nation’s Cheakamus 11; and Upper Nicola Band’s Nicola Lake 1.

More than 700 households in the Deka Lake and Ruth Lake communities can now access quality, reliable high-speed internet with the completion of a fibre-to-the-home network.

People in 55 B.C. communities, including Vernon and 18 other Interior municipalities, will benefit from approximately $17.3 million in grants in lieu of municipal property taxes this year.
