Rachna Singh, Minister of Education and Child Care, has issued the following statement as students return to school:

Recruitment and training initiatives are underway for the coming school year to get more certified teachers into B.C. classrooms and build B.C.’s K-12 workforce.

Surrey students will return to larger schools once three school expansions are finished construction as government creates more student spaces quicker.

More families throughout B.C. will have access to affordable and high-quality child care as the Province invests in almost 600 new licensed child care spaces.

Families in North Vancouver will soon have 145 more student spaces as construction begins on an expansion to Lynn Valley Elementary school.
