Students and staff are returning to safer classrooms now that the seismically safer replacement of Burnaby North Secondary school is complete.

The Province has approved funding for a new Conseil scolaire francophone de la Colombie-Britannique (CSF) kindergarten-to-Grade 6 elementary school to meet the growing enrolment needs of the region’s francophone community. 

Kitchener Elementary school will have a new school addition with 15 additional classrooms as early as the next school year to help address enrolment growth in Burnaby. 

Students at Brentwood Park Elementary will soon be getting more space with a new addition and seismic upgrade on the way.

Francophone students and families in Burnaby are one step closer to having a permanent home with the purchase of a site for a future school in the Duthie-Union neighbourhood.

A new, seismically safe Stride Avenue Community school will give hundreds of students in Burnaby a better learning experience for generations to come and contribute to a reduction in B.C. greenhouse gases.

Students and staff will be safer in Burnaby schools, thanks to accelerated investments in seismic upgrades and replacements that are complete or underway at four local schools.
