Families in the Stikine school district will benefit from improved transportation services thanks to $51,181 in funding under the new provincial Student Transportation Fund.

Families in the Peace River North school district will no longer pay fees for students riding school buses within their schools’ catchment areas thanks to $425,785 in funding under the new provincial Student Transportation Fund.

Families in the Coast Mountains school district will benefit from improved transportation services thanks to $557,786 in funding under the new provincial Student Transportation Fund.

Families in the Kamloops/Thompson school district will benefit from improved transportation services thanks to $666,817 in funding under the new provincial Student Transportation Fund.

Families in the Qualicum school district will no longer pay fees for students riding school buses within their schools’ catchment area thanks to $426,341 in funding under the new provincial Student Transportation Fund.

The Province, the Burnaby school district, Simon Fraser University (SFU) Childcare Society and SFU Community Trust are tackling community and student enrolment growth with $3.9 million to expand University Highlands Elementary school.

At only 18 years old, Jaymee Lynn is already framing her way to success. Jaymee just graduated from high school in Port Coquitlam in June and is already working full-time as a carpentry apprentice for a local construction company.

With the final phase of the $15-million Okanagan Mission Secondary school expansion now complete, students are kicking-off the new school year in an environmentally friendly and updated school.

Students need to connect with the skills required in our changing world – and two Ministry of Education programs aim to do just that by helping school districts connect kids with  opportunities in skilled trades and tech training. 

The Province and the Langley school district are tackling rapid community growth and increasing student enrolment with more than $67 million to create more seats, classrooms and a new school for students and families in the Willoughby Slope area.
