Two new school additions are on track to deliver more student spaces as soon as the next school year in the fast-growing Sooke School District.

Students and staff will be learning and teaching in safer classrooms when Prince Rupert Middle School is rebuilt to the latest seismic safety standards.

Francophone families in Pemberton will have a new school for K-12 students and a permanent home for École La Vallée to support existing and forecast enrolment growth.

Students throughout B.C. will soon be learning in safer, improved schools now that more funding is available to school districts.

More funding to improve schools through better ventilation, reduced emissions and increased accessibility is going to school districts around the province with annual capital programs that are creating safer, healthier schools and supporting CleanBC initiatives.  

Students and families are getting a new, larger and seismically safe Moody Elementary school with room for projected growth in the community, as well as new child care spaces.

Better ventilation, electric buses and increasing energy efficiency are some of the benefits for B.C. K-12 students and staff from $240.5 million in maintenance grants this year – a 10.5% increase over last year.
