Work is underway to restore access on Highway 1 through the southern Interior, after wildfire activity forced closures of sections of the highway.

British Columbians should take precautions, as colder-than-normal temperatures and snow are forecast through next week, beginning Saturday, Dec. 17, 2022.

As heavy snowfall is forecast across southwestern B.C., now is the time for British Columbians to prepare for cold temperatures, power outages and slick streets.  

Highway 3 has reopened for goods movement and people travelling for essential purposes only following a closure to conduct a geotechnical assessment.

Motorists are advised Highway 7 west of Agassiz has a single lane open to emergency vehicles only.
