Avalanche Canada offers forecasts, training, tools to help people stay safe

The Province is funding local community projects throughout B.C. to improve planning for evacuation routes and public notifications to keep people safe and informed when emergencies occur.

As people make plans for the Canada Day weekend, it’s important to be prepared and stay safe as warm temperatures, dry conditions and wildfire risk continue in many parts of the province.

Residents and long-weekend travellers are encouraged to plan ahead, be prepared and stay safe this Victoria Day long weekend.

To better protect people and communities throughout B.C. from the increasing threat of natural and climate-related emergencies, the Province is providing more than $40 million for 61 projects.

People in B.C. intending to explore the backcountry are encouraged to be mindful of potential hazards, have a plan and be informed about avalanche safety and forecasts.
