In response to B.C.’s growing housing needs, BC Hydro has made changes to support faster, more affordable electricity connections for new homes and businesses throughout the province.

BC Hydro has received a strong response to its call for new renewable power-generation projects while it continues to build out and strengthen B.C.’s electricity grid, creating jobs and supporting clean growth in communities such as Vancouver.

BC Hydro will construct approximately $1 billion in capital projects in Surrey over the next decade to upgrade and expand the electricity grid and provide clean power for homes, businesses and growing electrification and transportation needs.

BC Hydro will construct more than $1.25 billion in capital projects throughout Burnaby over the next decade to upgrade and expand the electricity grid, and provide clean power for homes and businesses in growing communities.
